Esther Palmira Orizi is an Argentine actress and former vedette, artistically known as Mimí Pons (Marcos Juárez, Córdoba, January 13, 1948). She enjoyed great popularity in the revue theatre of the 1970s and is the younger sister of the actress and vedette Norma Pons (1943-2014).
Together with her older sister, Norma, she acted in radio plays in Rosario. Since she was a teenager, she used to escape from high school to see the auditions that were held in LT-2. Chicho Serrador saw her in the audience at age fifteen and hired her for her comedy in Buenos Aires.
Mimi Pons was characterized by her innate beauty and her ideal vedette demeanour. As a girl, she studied dance and began her career in the 1970s with her older sister Norma Pons, led by José Marrone, when they both went to cast on Channel 13, where the comedian presented Marronadas 66, directed by Julio Porter, for then director of Maipo. He worked with great comedians such as Pepe Biondi, Pepe Marrone and Luis Sandrini.
Her last foray as a vedette was for the ’78 World Cup.
