Selva Mayo is an Argentine actress, model, television host, and former vedette.
Cinema
The actress acted in films such as Hay que romper la rutina (1974) with Alberto Olmedo and Jorge Porcel, The bra war (1976) and Las muñecas que hacen ¡pum! (1979), by Gerardo Sofovich, and in Héctor Olivera’s film, Play Murder for Me (1990) with Rodolfo Ranni.
Television
In Argentina, she worked on television programs such as Narciso Ibáñez’s Menta specials El Monstruo no ha muerte, Drácula, and Elbotbot (from 1970). She acted in La Tuerca, Alta Comedia, and Teatro como en el Teatro, among many others. She accompanied Alberto Olmedo in No Toca Botón, Osvaldo Pacheco in Viernes De Pacheco, Darío Vittori in Las comedias de Darío Vittori and Luis Landriscina in El País de Landriscina and Landriscina en Casa. She was Juan Verdaguer’s inseparable companion on theatre tours and television. Her choreographies were highly applauded on Saturdays of Kindness. She co-starred in the show “Humor Cinco Estrellas” alongside Mario Sánchez and Javier Portales on ATC.
She worked with Moria Casán on the Channel 11 show”Moria Marca Registrada”.
In Spain, she participated in Farmacia de Guardia with Carlos Larrañaga and Concha Cuetos; Carmen and Family with Carmen Machi; in the Spanish Television miniseries Tango with Luis Brandoni and Sancho Gracia; Hermanos de leche on Antena with José Coronado and Juan Echanove and Tiempo al Tiempo with Padreo Ruíz.
Playboy
She was on the cover of the renowned Playboy magazine with seven pages inside. That year, it was the best-selling magazine. She also made several covers for “Libre” magazine.
Private life
She married the Argentine singer Cacho Castaña through the Umbanda rite. The relationship lasted a year and a half in the eighties.
