In the world of Glamour no name is more fore than of Harrison Marks – whether it be Japan, Canada, the United States, the whole of the continent, or in his own home country, Britain. His studies of feminine beauty will found in most calendars, or in photographic art books. In fact, during the past ten years, his works has become the talking point of interest in the field of the profession.
Harrison Marks originally came from the theatre, and in his works can be seen a marked influence of his period – the dramatic touch is very evident and in many of his studies he tends to veer away from the accepted “Sugary Nude” and produce works of a vital, earthy quality, which has become a signature of his craftsmanship.
Whether he be in studio surroundings, or on a location, his individual style comes through, and in this beautiful volume can be found some of the loveliest studios ever taken in his branch of photography.
At this time of publication, Marks divides his time between the “still” camera and film-making. Recently completed, his latest work in this line “The Chimney Sweeps” is pure slapstick comedy, and again he draws his knowledge of this particular art from his past theatre experience. He has also completed two comedy shorts for the B.B.C. Television, and is now scripting and making preparations for his next full length comedy film.
Surely a man of many talents… we can only hope that we will not lose this expert technician entirely to the world of the custard pie?
