The British Jayne Mansfield
Norma Ann Sykes (born 19 May 1936), known as Sabrina, was a 1950s English glamour model who progressed to a minor movie career.
Sabrina is from Stockport, near Manchester, England; as a teenager, she was a junior swimming champion at the breaststroke.
In the 1950s, she became famous for modelling for glam magazines; she was up there with Diana Dors and Marilyn Monroe, profiting from the 50’s obsession with the female breast, the bigger, the better.
She became a feature on black and white tv in the Arthur Askey show, her hourglass figure and prominent breasts being a bit of a shock for the prim BBC viewers. More used to the understated glamour of Katie Boyle.
She even made a cameo appearance in one of the St Trinians films.
She eventually quit the grey skies of the UK and moved to the blue skies of California, where she met and married an American surgeon.
Died November 24, 2016 (aged 80) in Los Angeles, California, U.S.
